Lamacoid labels

Lamacoid labels (also spelled lamicoid) are heavy-duty, engraved plastic identification tags and nameplates primarily used in industrial, electrical, and mechanical environments. Originally a brand name, the term is now used generically to describe multi-ply (2-ply or 3-ply) acrylic or ABS plastic plates.How They WorkLamacoids are made of layers of contrasting colored plastics. When a laser or rotary engraver cuts through the top surface layer, it reveals the contrasting core layer underneath (e.g., a black surface layer engraved to reveal a crisp white text layer). This creates highly visible, permanent text or graphics that cannot fade, smudge, or wear off like printed ink or stickers.
